In a world where conflict has become part of our daily lives, preparing our students to face upcoming challenges is crucial. Model United Nations simulation addresses the need to prepare young leaders. It allows students to be empathetic, while developing other skills, such as: critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution. Through research, reasoning and negotiation, students are empowered and ready to take over the world. Taking this into account, this year five sibling schools decided to unite and organize the first edition of Change Mexico Model United Nations.
Along Liceo de Monterrey Girls’ Campus, Los Altos, Triana and Fontanar, Colegio Los Sauces embarked in this adventure with hopes it will eventually become an academic event with a different host school each year. For us, CMMUN, represents an opportunity to create a safe platform in which relevant current issues can be discussed among students who meet eye to eye in terms of values and moral ground.
We are more than honored to announce that in this first edition, Los Sauces was represented by a delegation of nine students, five Middle School students and four pertaining to High School. In addition, one of our students was selected as Chair Member for the event. After months of preparation, our delegates performed remarkably well, demonstrating a deep understanding of world issues and proving Sauces students excel in the use and command of the English language. This experience will surely be one of their fondest memories.
Congratulations, Sauces delegates, you have made us proud!
